Music Production and Technology (MPT) is a project led by Mr Pepe at West Kirby Grammar School. Launched in 2024, it gives students the opportunity to experience every stage of creating a professional music release, from performance and recording through to mixing, mastering and publication.
Inspired by his experience as a sound engineer, Mr Pepe established MPT to provide students with authentic opportunities to develop music production skills while working collaboratively on meaningful creative projects. With the support of Mr Clarke and Mrs Gilbert, that vision has become a reality.
Building on the strong partnership between the Music Departments at West Kirby Grammar School and Calday Grange Grammar School, students from both schools have worked together throughout this project, sharing ideas, developing their skills and contributing to a genuinely collaborative recording experience.
EP 2026 is a collection of four well-known songs, performed, recorded and produced entirely within our Music Department. It celebrates the talent, commitment and creativity of our students and marks the beginning of what we hope will be many future releases.
